I was raised in Barrington and graduated from Barrington High School in 1988. I live in the southeast corner of Barrington Hills with my better half, Jessica Underwood, our horses, organic dairy goats, dog, cat, chickens, and bees.
I hold a civil engineering degree, and have made a living as an information technology entrepreneur for over twenty years, solving complex problems in creative and efficient ways. I’m an avid environmentalist, and enjoy volunteering outdoors.
I cherish our village’s agricultural and equestrian heritage, 5-acre zoning, and extensive property rights. If elected I would work tirelessly to protect the things residents hold dear, including our borders and open spaces. I would strive to improve communication and collaboration with residents, and continue to foster relationships with area stakeholders. By working together we can identify and implement optimal balanced solutions to existing and future issues, ideally without raising tax levies.
I have attended and participated in many Village board and ZBA meetings over the past decade, and am familiar with our code and comprehensive plan.
I am running a zero-waste campaign on a $500 self-funded budget, with re-usable hand-made campaign signs. I am not accepting campaign donations in the interest of avoiding bias of any kind.
I was endorsed by the Daily Herald on March 5th, 2021. Please consider voting for me on or before April 6th, 2021 by mail or in-person (see helpful voter tools in the website menu above). I would be pleased and honored to represent you, and all residents, and would do so with balance and integrity.
Do not hesitate to contact me for any reason, I’d be happy to communicate with you about any concerns or questions that you may have.
